I just came back from this trip and definately feel the need to share some much needed info!!! Student city did a great job of picking our group up once we docked and got off the cruise ship (Imperial Empress Cruise Line). They were friendly and really helpful. Gave us all kinds of info on the clubs, beaches, and nassau in general. They hooked us up with wrist bands for the clubs and told us which parties to go to at night. I have to say they did a great job all around. Stayed at the Paradise Island Hotel and that was also really great! The staff was helpful and they have nice sized rooms and a great beach/pool area. Tons of spring breakers there so lots of cool people to meet and hang out with. HOWEVER... DO NOT BOARD IMPERIAL EMPRESS CRUISE SHIP!!!! To put it in the words of my friend, "it looks like the ship sunk in the sea and they pulled it back up." The boat was completely unsanitary and very small. They have one pool that is super small and two trailer trash hot tubs with only 30 lounge chairs for a ship of 1,000 ppl. Their food tastes like school cafeteria food! None of the staff speaks english and they don't seem to know what they are doing at all! They never explain why they are sending you certain places or why they are taking your passport or luggage (Be careful not to give either of those things away without knowing what they are doing with them!)!!! I've been on cruises before and this was so bad that I don't think I will ever get on another one. I definately recommend going to Nassau and using Student City but do not ever go on Imperial Empress!!!!
DONT DO IT! Everybody in Nassau is a hustler....stuff is way to expensive. 1 beer cost $6 and mixed drink are $10+! Only way to enjoy this trip is if you stayed in an all inclusive hotel. Senor Frogs (club) was definately fun but other then that, kinda lame but then again we were the first spring breakers to go.
This cruise is a perfect option if you've done the Freeport cruise and are looking for something a little more laid back and a total cruise experience. The cabins are spacious (see if you can sweet talk one of the jacuzzi suites, haha) and the food is ammmazing. It has all of the regular stuff you'd expect except definitely nicer than the other party cruise and still a lot of spring breakers. I'm not the biggest fan of Nassau, it's a little slow paced but the longer cruise time makes up for it.
!00% legit real cruise. An amazing deal for the price, considering you get a true cruise, with the combination of amazing meals, drinks and atmosphere. I highly recommend this cruise for anyone looking for a laid back, yet really fun and enjoyable true cruise experience!
Nassau is a chill place to go for spring break. Don't go here if you're a small group looking for the wildest spring break though... I was there with a group of 35 people and had a great time. I liked the beaches in Nassau and the Caribbean water...they're white sandy beaches and bright blue water. The food in Nassau is more expensive than in the US...but who eats on spring break? Bottles of rum are $8 or less... and buy yourself a Kalik(or 12)!
Great Cruise ship, the meals are absolutely amazing on this ship. Awesome choice for someone who's already done the Freeport Bahamas Party Cruise and loved it. Nassau itself is beautiful but a little pricey. Good for people looking for a genuine cruise experience but wanna experience the party scene in Nassau as well. The Senor Frogs in Nassau is definitely one of my favorites, and I think it's the best party spot in Nassau. Envy is a posh little lounge-type club downtown, that place is pretty sick as well. Best hotel in Nassau: The Wyndham - Sweeeeet pool area, full scale casino, definitely the best choice unless you're looking for an All-Inclusive, since they only have standard rooms at the Wyndham. Cool place, awesome cruise ship, excellent price, though stuff in general is pretty pricey in Nassau--especially beer.
depending on what your looking for on sping break nassau may or may not be the deccion for you, its definately not wild and crazy like Cancun, however the beaches, and hotel properties are gorgeous!! This trip is different than any other spring break trip because you get the best of both worlds...2 nights on a REAL cruise ship, and 2 nights in your hotel of choice!! Its a cheaper alternative for a spring break trip than going away for 8 days. Hit up the straw markets while your their they have some awesome stuff!!
It's actually a real cruise! Two nights on the ship and two nights on land if you want a short break from classes do it up. Saves you a couple of bucks but still a good time. Rum Rum RUM!
Nassau is cool destination. It is not your wild and crazy spring break by any means. If you want 5000 people in a club, then goto Acapulco. Nassau has amazing beaches and a real caribbean feel. The cruise to nassau is awesome because its super cheap and you get two trips in one. Couple nights on the cruise ship and a couple nights on the island. Cant beat it for the price.
